Supporting You Beyond Your Front Door

At Dritewyse Care and Support Ltd, we believe that being part of a community is essential to wellbeing, confidence and independence.

Our community support service helps individuals participate in everyday activities, maintain relationships, attend appointments and enjoy meaningful experiences outside their homes.

We understand that accessing the community can sometimes be challenging because of disability, reduced mobility, anxiety, communication difficulties or a lack of practical support.

Our role is to help remove those barriers and enable individuals to engage in activities that matter to them.

What Our Community Support Service Includes

Community Access and Outings

We accompany individuals to parks, cafés, libraries, leisure centres, local attractions and other community facilities, according to their interests and support needs.

Healthcare and Personal Appointments

We can accompany people to GP appointments, hospital appointments, therapy sessions, opticians, dental appointments and other essential visits.

Shopping and Everyday Errands

We support individuals with shopping, collecting prescriptions, visiting local services and managing everyday activities.

Social and Recreational Activities

We encourage participation in hobbies, community groups, social clubs, sporting activities, cultural events and other enjoyable experiences.

Developing Confidence and Independence

Our staff provide encouragement and practical assistance to help individuals build confidence in unfamiliar environments, develop social skills and participate more independently.

Travel and Community Safety

Where appropriate, we support people to plan journeys, use public transport, develop road-safety awareness and become more confident travelling within their communities.

Maintaining Relationships

We help individuals remain connected with friends, relatives and social networks through planned visits, outings and meaningful engagement.

Support Built Around Your Interests

We do not believe community support should be limited to completing errands.

We take time to understand what each person enjoys, what they would like to try and what outcomes they want to achieve.

This might mean attending a weekly activity, visiting a favourite location, learning to use public transport or gradually becoming confident enough to participate in activities with less assistance.

We work at each person’s pace and celebrate meaningful progress.

Safety and Individual Planning

Before providing support, we consider the individual’s needs, communication preferences, mobility, environmental risks and any additional assistance required.

Where necessary, individual risk assessments and support plans are developed to promote safe participation while respecting personal choice and independence.

Flexible Community Support

Support may be arranged for regular weekly activities, appointments, planned outings or other agreed occasions.

The frequency and duration of support are discussed during the assessment process.
